Ok, so new patch seems really interesting.

We already have some thoughts on the change of rules. But maybe you have some suggestions?

If so, please share them.

Personally, I think that this is "golden rule" when it comes to 1v1 tornaments. However, applying such rule in this tournament imo would make things extremely complicated, with 6 guys writing their DLC's, comparing them each game etc. The format itself at this point is pretty complicated. It should be up to the captains of teams to decide (also depending on DLC's possesed by each team player) who will play which games and which factions should be used in each battle.

So I don't think we will aplly this rule, will talk it through with other judges though.

btw what do you think about this Celt's gorilla deployment? Should we ban it or reduce?

All other issues seem good. Thanks for hosting this forum for convo. The Celts atm have really shity cav putting them at a distinct disadvantage cause of the maps chosen. The 3 factions are terrain oriented and need ambush to have advantage over cav. Since the maps chosen are open wherever u deploy, u will be noticed unless hidden by trees. I say ban Celtic factions from this turnie unless a more tactical/terrain featured map that negates cav to some degree can be aggreed upon. Just my thoughts. love the Celtic factions but they are not suited to these maps and with the all guerrilla deploy will be annoying for some people when they rush from any direction. :HelvetianSlayer

Good point Tanis. We will add few new maps to the Battle Rules, including Woods. That way Celts may have some chances.

We would not like to ban Celts only because they have gorilla. Tbh we are very interested of have these rather average factions may be used in 2v2s. Maybe people will come up wth some extreme tactics.

Yes banning the Celts is not the way. I was just more worried about the limit of maps but if there is an addition for terrain I think yeah there will be some extreme tactics and all will be good.

Issue I see here is how do you make sure the celtic factions don't deploy on top of each other if 2 celtic factions were to be used against each other?

I don't think that that's a fair or interesting/skill-based battle at all, so there'd need to be some things against that kind of thing. In general, celtic on celtic could be interesting, especially in a wooded setting where the armies could be widely dispersed.

Now that I think about it, though, if there are patches of forest on a map, those are the most likely places to guerrilla deploy, which again could lead to bad things if both players placed units in the same area.

Well Hamilkar, it is good point. Still, I can see only two possible options to avoid the risk of "celtic on celtic":
- either ban all guerilla deployment,
- or make a rule that only 1 celtic faction may be used in the battle (1v1 or 2v2).

Tbh I don't like both options. Maybe you guys have some better solution.

We have rule : "Max 8 units to be deployed outside deployment area" (per player). I think this rule is enough to stop deploy all units outside deployment area and rush from any direction.
We can add one random forest map, if you like. We can do a poll and select one of three random maps

This is not the issue Bebecho. The problem is that if both teams take Celtic factions and they deploy some units outside deployment area, there is a possibility that they will deploy on top of each other.

Like on this movie of Maximus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjZEuKqOLHU

Of course, with this rule "Max 8 units to be deployed outside deployment area", this won't be that hard as on the above movie. But still, it may happen in some scale.
